A treat to see! A square pillowcase with Dentelle lace around three edges. The lace is just lovely and made of a dense cotton which gives the lace a very distinct and crisp outline to the pillow sham. It is probably French and from around the 1890's. There is a small horizontal mend on the top left of the sham which has been expertly sewn so there is minimal visual impact. The sham measures 29.5" wide and 27.5" in height (75cm x 68.5cm). Pillow area is 28" wide by 25" in height (71cm x 63.5). The dentelle lace then creates an additional width to the border of 1.5" on three sides of the sham. The monogram measures 9.5" x 3.5" (24cm x 9cm) and is delightful. The initial are finely outlined with curls and dots to engage the eye. There are five small buttons on the back. Found from France , white, crisp and freshly laundered.
