A "to die for" white linen sheet made in the late 1890's. It is a lovely example of early weaving techniques. It has a centre seam which is a telltale sign of the size of the weaving looms that were used at the time. Later the larger looms were used which is when the centre seamed sheets then were then no longer available as sheet widths could then be made larger. The sheet is 79" in width by 142" in length (200cm x 360cm) and the monogram measures 13" wide by 6.5" high (33cm x 16.5cm). This is suitable for a double bed. This is one of the finest sheets I have - the monogram is sharp, crisp, high, well executed and delicate. Very rare and just gorgeous!
