This sheet is covered in embroidery! It is quite quite lovely. It is French and dates around 1890. The sheet is dove grey/white and measures 81” wide by 212” long (206cm x 538cm) and has an embroidered border along the entire top of the sheet. The embroidery is made up of two bands; one of stylised oak leavse and flowers as a running border and then a second band along the end with scallops and floret's. The monogram measures 12” wide by 6.5” (30.5cm x 16.5cm) tall with leaves and flowers playing within the design. The linen fabric is soft and cool and to the touch but with a certain weight to it which makes it perfect for both summer and winter. The embroidery is quite lovely and well formed with high reliefs especially on the monogram! A really fine addition for a collection as sheets with embroidery all along the edges are very rare now.
